Frequently Asked Questions

How do you pronounce your last name?
My last name is pronounced as if it were “Dy’-bis”. You can call me “Marty” or “Dr. Dybicz”, as you wish.

What is the best way to reach you?
Please call me at 816-590-9545. If I don’t answer, please leave me a confidential voicemail message with your phone number(s), and I’ll call you back.

What are your hours?
I see clients between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 10am and 5pm Thursday, and 8am to 1pm on Friday.

What are your fees?
My fees for psychotherapy, counseling, and consultations are $120 per hour.  Fees for private individual meditation services are $60 per 1/2 hour.  Fees for group meditation services are based on group size, amount of time, and location.

Do you accept insurance?
Many insurance plans and employee benefit plans reimburse for my psychotherapy services. Please call your plan, give them my name and address, tell them that I am a licensed Ph.D. psychologist, and ask them how much they will reimburse you for the fees you pay me. I collect your payment at the time of service (cash or check) and help you file your claim with your insurance company by providing you a detailed receipt. The insurance company reimburses you.

Where do I come for appointments?
My office is in the Unity Temple Building at 707 West 47th Street in the Plaza area of Kansas City, MO. It’s at the corner of 47th and Jefferson. There is a large parking garage just west of the building. I will tell you where the reception area is when we set up the appointment on the phone.

What approach do you use in the sessions?
Please review the “My Approach” page.

Where else can I get information about you?
Please go to www.psychologytoday.com, look at the “Find a Therapist” box, type in zip code 64112 and click, scroll down to my picture and listing, and then click on “see full profile”.
